Comcast boosts Internet speeds for Oregon and SW Washington

Comcast, Inc. says its boosting Internet speeds for its Oregon and Southwest Washington XFINITY broadband customers for free. The cable giant opened the Internet spigot for California last week. Users will need to restart their cable modems to see the higher speeds.

Comcast’s ”Extreme 50″ tier customers will see download speeds jump from 50 Mbps to 105 Mbps and upload speeds jump from 15 Mbps to 20 Mbps.

“Blast!” tier customers will see download speeds jump from 25 Mbps to 50 Mbps and upload speeds jump from 4 Mbps to up to 10 Mbps.

“Performance” tier customers will see speeds jump from 15 Mbps to 20 Mbps and upload speeds jump from 2 Mbps to 4 Mbps.
