Google+ sign-ins coming to NPR, Universal, Fox with Janrain, Gigya parternship

by Curtis Lee Fulton

Google says it’s partnered with social infrastructure platforms Janrain and Gigya. The deal brings Google+ sign-ins to National Public Radio, Universal Music Group artists pages (including ladygaga.com and justinbiebermusic.com) and Fox Broadcasting Company’s American Idol site.

The Google+ sign-in technology gives publishers a way to:

  • Add authentication to apps and sites
  • Offer readers a way to download content to Android apps
  • Customize reader experience based on Google+ profile data
  • Enable readers to share interactive comments
  • Write interactive widgets that appear in their readers’ profile
