Politics database ElectNext raises $1.3 million

Politics database provider ElectNext says its raised $1.3 million in seed funding. The startup says it builds candidate profiles from data that compare what candidates say about an issue, in contrast to how the candidate “spend[s] their time legislating and how that compares to their sources of funding.”
Brooklyn Bridge Ventures led the investment round in ElectNext, with funding from Digital News Ventures, Comcast Ventures, the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, Liberty City Ventures, Gabriel Investments and Investor’s Circle.
