Consumers prefer tablets over eReaders

by Curtis Lee Fulton

For the first time ever, consumers who read eBooks say they prefer tablets over dedicated eReaders, according to a survey by Bowker, a bibliographic data provider and the Book Industry Study Group, a book industry trade association. Forty-four percent of eBook readers surveyed say they prefer a tablet, up from 37% in August 2012. Consumers who still prefer a dedicated eBook reader slid from 49% to 42%.
