Cengage Learning to digitize AP’s archive

Cengage Learning, a publisher of research resources for libraries, says it’s partnered with the Associated Press to digitalize the wire service’s corporate archives, news copy, bureau records, correspondence and personal papers of reporters, dating back to 1948.

The digitizing wil be done by Cengage’s Gale division, which specializes in this sort of thing. Gale has done simular work for  Smithsonian Institution and the National Geographic Society.
