Web personalization startup Optimizely raises $28M

Web personalization startup Optimizely says it’s raised $28 million in series A funding lead by Benchmark Capital, with Bain Capital Ventures, Battery Ventures, InterWest Partners and Google Ventures also investing.

Optimizely co-founder and CEO Dan Siroker says the company will sell technology that enables any website to modify its presentation based on analytics.

Before starting Optimizely, Siroker worked as the director of analytics for the Obama Presidential Campaign and deputy new media director for the presidential transition.
