Shutterstock hits 25 million images mark

Online stock image license service Shutterstock says it’s reached the 25 million mark for its online images archive and has filled over 300 million licenses. It’s payed rights owners over $150 million so far.
The company say its 25-millionth image was an illustration of a cat on a black background by a Russian artist Natalia Koroleva. The 300 millionth image downloaded was a close-up photograph of leaves from Portuguese photographer Carlos Caetano.
