Twitter’s Vine takes root after Boston Marathon bombing

by Curtis Lee Fulton

A clip from Twitter’s Vine video sharing service of today’s Boston Marathon bomb attack has been tweeted over 39K times as of the time of this post. The 6-second clip appears to be from professional news coverage of the marathon’s finish line.

Historic moments captured on video have gone viral on Twitter before, such as the shooting of Nedā Āghā-Soltān during the 2009 Iranian election protests, but this is the first time Twitter’s own Vine video sharing system was used.
