Twitter opens ad buys to all U.S. users

Twitter ad buyers can choose how much they want to spend for new followers.

Twitter says it’s opening its self-service ad platform to all U.S. customers. Ad buyers can use the service to target users that are simular to the followers of specific Twitter handles, or pick from a list of over 350 predefined categories.

Ad buyers on the prowl for more Twitter followers can choose pay only when they pick up a new follower from their ad. Buyers can also pay a lower rate per user engagement, such as retweets and replies. In both cases, buyers choose the maximum amount they want to spend in a day, simular to Google AdWords.
