Andrew Sullivan’s $900k revenue goal unlikely

Superstar blogger Andrew Sullivan is reporting that his blog, the Dish, probably won’t earn $900,000 this year – Sullivan’s original revenue goal when he built the paywall in early February. The Dish has earned $680,000 so far, $518,000 from a “pre-subscription drive” before the paywall went into place. “The most passionate readers have already joined,” wrote Sullivan. “It gets harder after that.”

In March Sullivan adjusted his paywall meter rules to accommodate consumers with multiple devices, as readers were reading too many articles for free.
