Half the world’s population will be connected to the Internet by 2017

Forty-eight percent of the world’s population will be connected to the Internet by 2017, predicts networking giant Cisco. In 2012, 32% of the world’s population was connected. Cisco also predicts that the number of connected Internet devices will surge to 19 billion by 2017, up from 12 billion in 2012.
