Twitter buys social marketing outfit Trendrr, makes app more conversational

Social marketing outfit Trendrr says its been bought by Twitter for an undisclosed sum. Trendrr sells a service called Curatorr, which the company says works with media companies and marketers to “create compelling user experiences” around real-time TV and media.

Trendrr also sells a metrics product called Trendrr.TV, but the company says it won’t open any new Trendrr.TV contracts “going forward.”

In addition to buying Trendrr, Twitter also released an app update today. The company says the update makes it easier for users to “discover and follow conversations in [their] home timeline.”

With the update, Twitter conversations are ordered chronologically, with up to three Tweets in the user’s timeline. Users can also share Twitter conversations over email.
