POLITICO owner buys Capital New York, plans to ‘do in New York what we did in Washington’

POLITICO owner Robert Allbritton says he he’s going to buy Capital New York and plans to “do in New York what we did in Washington.” Allbritton went on to say that he’ll make a “substantial investment to sharpen the focus of Capital and vastly expand its reportorial presence…. [the publication will] “focus laser-like on New York and its power centers, including the media, city and state politics, culture and business.”

Allbritton is sending POLITICO’s executive director of editorial operations, Katherine Lehr, to New York to be the VP of operations.
