New York Daily News launches startup incubator

The New York Daily News says it’s launched Innovation Lab, a startup incubator aimed at early-stage companies that “address media industry development.”
The lab will review applications from startups October 1-31. Chosen applicants can receive $25,000 in seed funding from the Daily News if they enter a six-month program that offers advice and mentorship from entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and angel investors as they work to get the their product ready for production.
The startups will retain control over their intellectual property after the exit the program.
