Majority of Americans use mobile for online access

A majority of Americans use mobile for online access, finds a survey from Pew Research Center. According to Pew’s survey, 63% of US adults use smart phones to go online, “a figure that has doubled since [Pew] first started tracking internet usage on cell phones in 2009.”

Thirty-four percent of users from the previously-mentioned group say their smart phone is their primary Internet access portal. Based on that number, Pew figures “21% of all adult cell owners now do most of their online browsing using their mobile phone—and not some other device such as a desktop or laptop computer.”
