Consumers buy more online with iPhone than Android

Consumers buy more online with an iPhone than an Android device, finds a study by Arbitron, a media and marketing research firm. Specifically, 67.5% of iPhone owners use mobile apps for commerce, while 43.9% of Android users use their device for commerce.

The study also found that iPhone users spend more minutes a month using mobile commerce apps than Android users and that iPhone users spend more time shopping online. Specifically, iPhone users spend 105.3 minutes/month using mobile commerce apps,while Android users spend 87.6 minutes/month. iPhone owners shop online with their phones 35 sessions/month as compared to 29.5 sessions/month for Android owners.
